The Crewmates' Whereabouts - Weather Science and Karakuri Island

Aboard Momonga's ship bound for Impel Down, Luffy suffers a nightmare reliving how Kuma scattered his crew, and Hancock, too flustered by her own daydreams, fails to comfort him. The story then rewinds several days to Nami, who lands hurt outside the home of an old man named Haredas. He nurses her back to health and reveals she slept two full days after her fall. To lift her mood he shows off Wind Knots, cords that release stronger gusts as each is untied, though she only grows irritated and tries to leave for Sabaody.

Stepping into a raging storm, Nami spots an approaching cyclone and dashes back to warn Haredas, who shrugs it off and even points her to a shower that conjures tiny rain clouds of hot water. When the old man strolls calmly through the gale and she cannot follow, she grabs the Wind Knots and pairs them with her Perfect Clima-Tact to scatter the cyclone entirely. Impressed, Haredas confirms she stands on the sky island Weatheria, a place built around the scientific study of weather.

On a separate winter island, the hunters Kitton, his grandfather, and Taroimo accidentally fire on Franky, who shrugs off the hit. Offered a fur pelt against the cold, he refuses on grounds of style and instead joins their dance, only to faint from the freeze before learning he is on Karakuri Island, cradle of a genius. Doctors revive him with tea in place of cola, briefly turning him into a courteous gentleman. Unbeknownst to Franky, a fenced-off ruin nearby bears warning signs and the name Vegapunk. The anime adds Nami's cyclone feat and Franky's hospital visit, and gives the locations Weatheria and Karakuri Island their first appearances.
