The Fierce Fight Begins! Luffy vs. Hordy!

Wrenching the trident free from Vander Decken's body, Hody beats him in a short exchange and then sets off after Shirahoshi, cutting past Ryuboshi and Manboshi and snatching her by the hair with his peerless underwater speed. A strike from Luffy forces Hody to release the princess.

Over at Gyoncorde Plaza, Zeo persuades Wadatsumi that he is obliged to go on fighting for the crew. Wadatsumi pounds Surume flat, then, after lunging at Jinbe and getting knocked back, topples onto Nami by accident, which hands Sanji a reason to hit him. Nearby, Hyouzou swells into a monster from an Energy Steroid overdose and charges Robin, only for Zoro to leap in and stop the strike.

As Hody tears the trident free, Decken admits he tagged him with his left hand and throws an axe. Decken follows with a kick that bares blades tucked inside his shoes, but Hody clamps the leg in his teeth, whirls his foe about, and raises the captured body to block the thrown axe before announcing he has to finish Shirahoshi before Noah lands. Somersaulting past her brothers, he slashes them with the blade riding his back and grabs the princess by the hair, sneering that not even a mermaid can outpace him. Perched on Fukaboshi's back, Luffy answers by firing his Gomu Gomu no Snake Shot straight into Hody's chest.

In the plaza, Wadatsumi sinks into despair over his captain's abandonment until Zeo feeds him a falsehood and a steroid, triggering a rampage that crushes Surume. Jinbe stops the giant's fist with a 7000 Brick Roundhouse Kick, and Wadatsumi's collapse bowls Nami over, spurring Sanji to retaliate. A drunken Hyouzou keeps gulping more steroids, and an ambitious fish-man called Nuru tries to climb to officer rank by attacking Zoro, only to be cut down, first by Zoro and then by the transformed Hyouzou. When Hyouzou rushes Robin, Zoro blocks him and shears his blade in two, sizing him up as practice for the New World. Beneath the waves, Hody mocks Luffy that victory in the deep is impossible, and Luffy retorts that two years of training prepared him for precisely this.

In the source, Hody only batted aside Manboshi and Ryuboshi before grabbing for Shirahoshi, while the anime adds Hoe among those repelled and lengthens the chase. When Wadatsumi defeats Surume, the anime mistakenly shows Chopper reacting in Brain Point beside Usopp, a continuity error since he ought to be in Horn Point tunneling against Daruma. Both Hody's and Hyouzou's steroid transformations play out fully onscreen, and the anime debuts Nuru, an angler fish-man who does not exist in the manga.
