Summary

Backtracking to before Noah began falling again, Jinbe and Sanji keep pounding Wadatsumi, who puffs himself up in his rage and accidentally squashes his own comrades. Sanji baits him into inflating further by pointing out that Surume still towers over him.

Not far off, the Minister of the Left reaches the resting Neptune with a few soldiers and apologizes for failing his king. Leading more troops, the Minister of the Right reaches the plaza and throws himself into the fight, formally tying the Neptune Army to Luffy's Straw Hat Pirates. Hammond wheels in atop a slave tank hauled by enslaved human pirates, and Jinbe asks Robin to set them free. Robin releases the captives and snaps Hammond's spine with her Double Clutch, after which the liberated slaves turn on their former captors and join the Straw Hats. An order then goes out from the Minister of the Left for the entire island to evacuate.

Key Events

With the fighting still raging, the Minister of the Left learns over a baby Den Den Mushi that Noah has returned to a collision course, and he sends an evacuation order out across the nation. Over those same channels, the whole island catches Luffy's exchange with the soldiers and with Shirahoshi, then Fukaboshi's voice laying out the truth of Hody Jones's nature.

The prince paints Hody as a monster shaped by his surroundings. The New Fish-Man Pirates draw on hatred and resentment to dull the pain carried by those before them, and they fear the day such anger might fade. A flashback returns to Fukaboshi asking what humans had done to make Hody loathe them so deeply, and the reply he had only mouthed earlier is at last spoken, a single word: nothing. Hody insists the fish-men were appointed by heaven to deliver judgment on humanity. Fukaboshi rebuts that their hatred holds no lived experience or will of its own, leaving them empty shells without substance. Hearing it, Hody erupts in deranged laughter and, eyes gone bloodshot, throws himself at Luffy and Shirahoshi.

Notes

The installment shows Zeo's chains for the first time in the anime and covers more pages than any episode since Episode 524. A moment of Octopako struggling to carry off her suitcase is added. The manga had the Minister of the Left issue the evacuation order before he knew Noah was falling once more, whereas the anime places it afterward, noting that Hody's forces had seized the communication centers first. During the Double Clutch, Hammond is briefly shown in loafers rather than sandals.
