The Crew is Confused! The Shocking Beheaded Samurai Appears!

Standing over the dead dragon, Luffy tries to extract the man lodged inside and yanks out only a pair of legs, leading the others to believe he has killed the fellow. The limbs are alive and dash off hunting for a Warlord, until a brief chase ends with Luffy tackling them and the legs clamping onto him. As the crew grills dragon meat, the legs repeatedly piledrive him, more to his amusement than his alarm. Zoro calls everyone toward a lake whose distant bank climbs into ice-capped peaks, and Robin works out that the earlier cry came from that frozen side. A grinning winged woman watches Usopp from a chimney top, then flits away birdlike, leaving him rattled.

Within the laboratory, a guard reports to a delighted gaseous Master that Sanji, Nami, Franky, and Chopper have been taken, and the Master, intrigued by Franky's cyborg frame, orders them locked away. Brook, abandoned for dead aboard the Sunny, stirs among guards who panic and open fire. Inside a cell labeled CHECK-102, Franky and the others reassemble a head broken into eight pieces. The rebuilt man lives and recounts that a Warlord carved up his body, confessing his shame at having survived the slicing. Out on the burning side, Luffy strikes up a friendship with a leopard-legged centaur who took him for one of his own kind, while Master's lookouts relay word of the trespassers to the bird woman.

Monet, Caesar Clown, Hyoutauros, and Kirintauros all enter the story here, joined by the Third Research Institute and the Gasu Gasu no Mi. The adaptation tacks on a short pursuit before the samurai's legs are finally cornered by Luffy, has Brook startle the Master's subordinates, parades the unconscious crew before the Master, and lets Luffy bond with the centaur. Departing from the source, the imprisoned pirates stay confined until the following chapter, and Franky cites the shellfish dessert in place of Sea King meat because of the shifts brought on by the preceding arc.
