Sad Memories - Law the Boy from the White City!

At Spider Miles a ten-year-old Law festers in a trash dump, cursing Corazon, who throws him back into the heap without a flicker of pity. Brought before the Donquixote Family at dinner, Law endures the executives' taunts and Lao G's lecture on the Blood Law, yet refuses to flee. Doflamingo declares death for anyone who harms Corazon, his blood brother, and when Law's white skin patch is spotted, explains that Amber Lead Syndrome stems from poisoning and cannot spread.

The next day the pirates raid Rakesh, and between gunfights Gladius, Lao G, and Senor Pink recount Flevance's fate. The all-white city grew rich mining Amber Lead, unaware a century-old survey had branded it poisonous. The World Government and royalty buried the truth, so the people kept digging, their lifespans shortening generation by generation. Worse followed when neighbors quarantined Flevance, gunned down fleeing patients, and burned the country in a war framed as self-defense.

Law refuses to abandon the crew despite the beatings, claiming he has already seen hell. The poisonous nature of Amber Lead and the cover-up by the government and royalty are revealed, along with the quarantine that doomed ordinary citizens. In flashback, Law's sister Lami develops the telltale white patch, his parents are shot dead by soldiers hunting Amber Lead patients, and Law survives only by hiding under corpses. He finds the rescue nun and children slain and the hospital ablaze, realizes Lami is gone, and suffers a complete breakdown. Returning to the dump, he stabs the unsuspecting Corazon in the back, prompting Buffalo to run to Doflamingo.

The anime adds a hungry Law staring at the sea before the dinner, Senor Pink speaking to him before Corazon throws him, and Doflamingo naming Rakesh as the target. It omits the manga image of Law hiding beneath corpses and expands the Rakesh raid, which the manga left unnamed. Baby 5 uses the Buki Buki no Mi at this younger age, earlier than in print, the Flevance flashback is extended, and the nun's cross necklace becomes a pendant. Debuts include Lami plus the locations Rakesh and Flevance. Rated 7.0.
