Humongous Battle! The Giants Dorry and Brogy!

Catching sight of a vast shape flattening trees as it nears the Going Merry, Nami and Usopp burst into tears. The figure emerges begging for liquor, and Nami can only offer what is kept for cooking and disinfecting. A T. rex then chomps the giant from behind, so he hacks off its head and names himself Brogy, who claims to be Elbaph's mightiest warrior. He greets the two as guests, but the terrified pair play dead. Far off, Luffy clowns along a Brachiosaurus's necks until one swallows him, only for a second giant, Dorry, to slash the beast and pluck him free, confessing he had been watching.

Dorry declares himself Elbaph's greatest warrior, and Luffy presents his group of Vivi and Karoo before being asked home. Brogy hauls Nami and Usopp to his camp and roasts dinosaur meat to honor them, but the two, convinced they are next on the menu, dash into the jungle, get chased by ever-bigger predators, and wind up right back at his feet. Dorry then explains to his three guests that a single duel has bound the two warriors across a hundred years, with each new eruption of the island's central volcano calling them to clash once more.

Among the trees, Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine team up with Mr. 3 and Miss Goldenweek, plotting to collect the giants' huge bounties. This marks the anime's first reference to Elbaph and debuts both Dorry and the Doru Doru no Mi. The adaptation widens Luffy's antics to involve the entire dinosaur herd, places his introductions ahead of Dorry's invitation, keeps Nami and Usopp feigning death until predators corner them, and expands the catch-comparing rivalry between Sanji and Zoro, who head back to hunt some more.
