Eager for the coming clash with Kaidou, Luffy attaches one demand to the alliance: he wants to free Sanji from Big Mom before the larger war begins. He shrugs off warnings about the danger, confident he can avoid fighting the Emperor and counting on Pekoms, whom he jokingly dubs Pekomamushi.

Jack, meanwhile, has brutally punished Sheepshead for coming back without Raizo and now steers his fleet toward Zou again. Rather than face the minks a second time, he announces he will strike Zunesha, the colossal elephant carrying the island, stunning his crew.

Outside on Zou, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi share stories of accompanying Oden as his attendants during travels with first Whitebeard and later Roger, with Usopp scribbling it all down. They reveal they never made it to Laugh Tale, and Kin'emon notes that Oden leaving Wano had been a crime. The Straw Hats catch Momonosuke fibbing about remembering his father's voyage, since Roger sailed over twenty years earlier. Franky and Brook each find common acquaintances in Tom and Crocus, and Brook stuns Nekomamushi by revealing he is the lone survivor of the crew Crocus once sought.

Nami raises Crocus' old claim that the Log Pose points to the final destination. The rulers confirm it: the Straw Hats must carry everything they have gathered to that last island, which becomes essential to passing beyond it toward Laugh Tale. Nekomamushi then declares he will seek out Marco and the surviving Whitebeard Pirates for the fight.

Anime-original moments include Nekomamushi laughing at Pekoms' nickname, Sheepshead apologizing after Jack's rebuke, and Ginrummy reacting with shock to the plan against Zunesha.
