As it approaches that fortress, the Vinsmoke carriage rolls past a colossal column of troops streaming through the open gates. Recognizing that this regiment is aimed at Luffy, Sanji's brothers gleefully tally the high-bounty pirates within it. They sneer that survival demands he abandon the place he promised Sanji he would hold, a remark that plainly tortures him. The eventual downpour turns out to be syrup, not water, so Luffy flips onto his face and refuses to let a drop reach his mouth while he holds out for his cook's meal.
