A Storm of Revenge - An Enraged Army Comes to Attack!

The report of Cracker's loss reaches Big Mom on her throne and leaves her trembling. Whispering Luffy's name, she draws the homies Zeus and Prometheus near, and the two then streak across the heavens above Sweet City to conjure a furious gale. A wall of black cloud pours from the towering Whole Cake Chateau exactly as Pound once cautioned, and the townspeople gawk overhead while a spent Luffy, joined by Nami and Kingbaum, steels himself for whatever follows.

As it approaches that fortress, the Vinsmoke carriage rolls past a colossal column of troops streaming through the open gates. Recognizing that this regiment is aimed at Luffy, Sanji's brothers gleefully tally the high-bounty pirates within it. They sneer that survival demands he abandon the place he promised Sanji he would hold, a remark that plainly tortures him. The eventual downpour turns out to be syrup, not water, so Luffy flips onto his face and refuses to let a drop reach his mouth while he holds out for his cook's meal.

Greeted by Baron Tamago and shielded under umbrella homies, the Vinsmokes head inside, glad to be allying with the formidable army they just passed. Big Mom, still seething, pauses when her daughter Anana asks for knives the head chef has refused her. She instructs her sons Dolce and Dragee to hand them over despite their worry that Anana will pop their balloons, declaring a thirst for killing perfectly normal and telling every child to anticipate the next day's wedding for Pudding. Entering the dining hall, she toasts the alliance with Judge, the meal commences, and singing, dancing food homies rattle the guests. During the feast, Pudding quietly delivers a written note to Sanji, asking him to meet her alone later. Beyond the walls, the storm intensifies, the host comes within view of the three, and Luffy will not give an inch.

The animated version fleshes out several moments only implied in the manga, such as Big Mom's onscreen reaction to the Cracker news before the weather turns, the army leaving the fortress as the Vinsmokes arrive, and the lunchtime greeting where Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji swoon at the sight of Pudding. Luffy is additionally shown sensing the oncoming troops and warning Nami to take cover. Amande's face is presented plainly during the march, whereas it first appeared in the manga only as she bisected Kingbaum. The opening theme Hope receives a credit to its source album, Namie Amuro's Finally, and a wide roster of Charlotte children makes its debut.
