A Fateful Confrontation - Luffy and Big Mom

So that Brook can move, Pedro mounts a distraction within the Whole Cake Chateau. He silently fells a number of sentries before stepping forward as a decoy, and he even attempts to blast the treasury entrance apart with dynamite. The commotion draws both Smoothie and Tamago out of the Room of Treasure, creating precisely the gap the intruders have been counting on.

Still trapped inside Mont-d'Or's book, Luffy keeps baiting Big Mom toward a clash, weathering a strike from Perospero's candy cane as he insists on seeing Pudding. Big Mom wraps up the call and lowers her Den Den Mushi, while Mont-d'Or turns uneasy on hearing that an intruder has breached the treasury. Within her own room, Pudding feels the earliest tremor of rebellion against the destiny her mother has laid out.

Pedro's quiet ambush and his dynamite gambit divert the Chateau's defenders from Brook's true target. The instant Nami speaks of Lola and Big Mom's anger flares, several of her offspring flinch in shock, Galette and Perospero among them, along with Opera, Myukuru, and Mont-d'Or. Luffy demands an outright duel rather than accept captivity, and Pudding's growing reluctance signals an imminent shift in where her allegiance falls.

The anime adds extra material: Perospero clubbing Luffy with his cane, the cluster of Charlotte siblings recoiling at their mother's fury during the talk about Lola, and Pedro cutting down sentries ahead of his turn as a decoy and his attempt on the treasury door. Smoothie and Tamago are depicted leaving the room, Big Mom is shown closing out her exchange with Luffy before hanging up, and Mont-d'Or's worry over the intruder is new. The opening now presents Smoothie clearly.
