Climb Up - Luffy's Desperate Escape!

Hoping to scale their way out, Luffy and the aged inmate Hyo are driven back down by a storm of arrows and rock flung up from below before either can reach the rim. Babanuki piles on next, blasting Luffy with cannon fire shaped from his elephant body. Watching from above, Queen states that he has a few words meant for the captured pirate.

The hour passes very differently for three of the crew. Lounging inside a capital bathhouse steam room, Nami sits with Robin and Shinobu, sour about the unisex layout and the pack of gawking men who press toward her while paying Shinobu no attention whatsoever. Taking the insult personally, Shinobu answers with a ninjutsu strike landed squarely below the belt. The trio then moves to a room where an octopus scrubs their backs, and a stray remark about Hyogoro from a nearby bather draws them into a longer conversation.

By Shinobu's telling, the man held tremendous standing during Oden's era, commanding the loyalty of the five other regional bosses and of Oden himself. Word has it that once the Kurozumi clan seized power, he would not serve Orochi and was put to death for it. Fukurokuju chose differently, swore his allegiance, lived, and was set over the shogun's personal ninja. Shinobu confesses she once belonged to that very unit before turning her back on it, the connection through which Hanzo came to know her. Underground, Queen approaches Hyo, who proves to be Hyogoro himself, and dangles a pardon before Luffy in exchange for joining the Beasts Pirates, a deal Luffy rejects outright.

Carrying the keys to Luffy's restraints, Raizo finds him beside Queen, only for the fish-eating captive seen earlier to abruptly call out his name. The man turns out to be his comrade Kawamatsu, bound to the wall in chains. Caught near the cell, Raizo melts away in a cloud of smoke as Solitaire receives the warning. An immense ring is wheeled out for the rigged contest, and each fighter is fitted with a collar primed to release blades and sever the neck the moment either one steps beyond the circle, though the Seastone cuffs are taken off in exchange. Luffy then asks whether defeating Queen might earn their release. Material unique to the broadcast covers the pair being seized mid-climb, Raizo arriving at a vacant cell, and Shinobu describing a Pomegranate Gate to Robin, with the octopus attendants brought in earlier than the source had them.
