Chapter 129

Leaving Little Garden, the Straw Hats run into the island-eating goldfish guarding the exit. Nami demands they steer around it, but Usopp and Luffy, holding to the giants' instruction, drive the ship straight into its jaws. Watching from shore, Dorry and Brogy recall a past encounter with such a beast and hurl their weapons in unison, blasting a clean tunnel through the creature and freeing the Going Merry, which sails out as the two faithful crewmates weep with joy.

A flashback shows the origin of the giants' duel: long ago both ruled Elbaf, and when each returned home hauling a huge sea creature, an argument over whose catch was larger spiraled into a contest lasting decades. The mountains dotting the island turn out to be the bones of those past catches. A volcanic eruption signals their next bout even as nostalgia grips them, and they sacrifice the remnants of the Terry Sword and Bruiser Axe to open the crew's path.

Usopp vows to one day see Elbaf, while Vivi recalls Igaram urging her to survive and Zoro trains, determined to grow strong enough to slice steel. In Arabasta, Mr. 2 grudgingly prepares to head out and kill Mr. 3. The chapter ends with Nami collapsing from a fever, marking the close of the Little Garden Arc.
