Romance Dawn for the New World

At Brook's concert the audience keeps the Marines from making any arrest, and the Rosy Life Riders carry the musician off on Shakky's instructions. Over in Grove 46, the counterfeit Luffy announces he will make a lesson of his real double for the earlier slight, only for the navy to wall off every exit. Told to hold the captured Marine hostage to force an opening, Caribou flatly refuses and instead slays the man, which infuriates the impostor while the true Luffy keeps wondering why everyone keeps addressing him as boss. Combat breaks out between the pirates and the soldiers, and spirits collapse the moment the Pacifistas stride in and crush Lip Doughty with no effort.

The phony Luffy bolts with his fake crew and barrels into Sentomaru, who slams him to the ground and growls that the real Straw Hat is nothing like this fraud. A scan from PX-5 names the impostor as Three-Tongued Demalo Black, a pirate worth a small fraction of the bounty he had been waving around, leaving the recruits livid. Already aware of the authentic Luffy, Sentomaru directs PX-5 to lock onto him, stripping the disguise away. Laid bare before the throng, Luffy shifts into Gear 2 and flattens the Pacifista with a single Haki-charged Jet Pistol. He then reaches Zoro and Sanji, who each dismantle another Pacifista without trouble. Catching sight of Rayleigh, Luffy thanks him for the past two years, thrusts his arms skyward, and proclaims that he will become the Pirate King.

Demalo Black's true identity and trifling bounty are made public, and Sentomaru confirms his standing as a Marine officer, wielding his axe in a fight for the first time. Luffy's revised bounty of four hundred million is officially confirmed through PX-5's targeting scope, and he proves he can enter Gear 2 without the blood-pumping stance, even confining the effect to one arm. The trio handling Pacifistas so easily underscores how far they have come, and Luffy is shown to command all three forms of Haki. The closing deliberately rhymes with the series' opening, ending on him raising his hands and stating his ambition.
