Chapter 839

The Vinsmokes share a meal in their throne room while Judge and Reiju discuss the wars Germa 66 profited from after Doflamingo's weapon trade collapsed. Ichiji and Niji care only for the money, and talk turns to the coming Levely, which Judge expects the World Government will bar them from once Germa's pact with Big Mom surfaces. Niji needles Sanji over leaving the family years ago, then refuses to finish his plate, sparking a confrontation. When Niji hurls the dish at the head chef Cosette, Sanji catches it, eats the spilled food off the floor, and praises her seasoning, moving her to tears.

Judge stops Niji from striking Sanji before the wedding, then produces a photograph of Zeff and threatens to have him killed unless Sanji cooperates. Sanji recalls his years at the Baratie and their tearful parting. Later he finds Cosette beaten and unconscious, and a smirking Yonji offers to lead him to Niji. Instead Yonji takes him to a sealed room where Sanji is stunned to see Germa 66 soldiers floating inside liquid capsules.

Judge warns that the World Government will likely revoke the family's Levely seat once Germa's alliance with Big Mom is exposed. He threatens Zeff's life to force Sanji's obedience, and it comes out that Tamago supplied both the exploding wristlets and the knowledge of Sanji's bond with Zeff. Yonji guides Sanji to a guarded chamber deep in the castle where Germa soldiers are held in large capsules under the watch of scientists.

The cover honors the conclusion of the long-running manga KochiKame, with Luffy painting Kankichi Ryotsu's eyebrows onto a giant poster, the numbers hidden in the art spelling out a thank-you to a hard-working policeman. A trivia note records that the female Baratie customer in Sanji's flashback was later reused in the final chapter of Shokugeki no Sanji.
