Among the debris of the fallen chateau, a shaken Count Niwatori presses his crewmates for answers, and what he hears alarms him: the ceremony, the cake, and the scheme against the Vinsmoke Family had all unraveled, and Bege had turned on their captain. Compote cannot account for the explosion that brought the tower down, while Niwatori adds that the venue's communications were severed. Pekoms then breaks in to report that the Sun Pirates fled and that Jinbe defected to the Straw Hats during the party. Daifuku confirms to Katakuri that pursuit teams are already after Germa, the Fire Tank crew, and the fleeing Straw Hats. Katakuri brings Brulee along and resolves to take Luffy down himself before the young captain can endanger his mother.

Their plans shatter when Smoothie tears in, ordering everyone clear of the city. An eating fit has seized Big Mom, who now hunts wedding cake while gripping Opera's drained body, a sight the crew knows means certain death to anyone who resists. Streusen, badly hurt while shielding others, cannot help. Thinking fast, Perospero claims a backup cake was made and stolen by the Straw Hats, points her toward them, and survives her threat to kill him should the lie surface. She conjures Zeus, rides him skyward, and chases the dessert. Pudding then arrives atop Rabiyan, declaring that Cacao Island can furnish her a chocolate chiffon cake of her own making, and her exposed third eye casts a fearsome aura over the townsfolk.

Perched on Jinbe's shoulders, Nami hurries the team toward the Seducing Woods, where she catches sight of the revived Kingbaum, his torn body stitched together as he courts a female tree homie. Still holding one half of the Vivre Card belonging to Big Mom after slicing Lola's, she compels the resentful homie to carry them once more, hoping to cut quickly through the shifting maze. The pursuing crew gains on them, and as Nami forces greater speed, Big Mom comes hurtling in, blade Napoleon in hand, demanding her cake back.

On the cover, Bartolomeo turns out to be staying on an island under the Red Hair Pirates' protection. This installment shows Big Mom finally reaching Luffy's group, and it marks the first time she fights with Napoleon in its sword form. Pandaman appears briefly among the panicking citizens. Pudding takes Sanji's earlier praise of her third eye to be mockery and craves payback, asserting she will bend Chiffon to her will to bake the replacement cake.
