Chapter 138 (Online): Into the Abyss

Drive Knight and Genos pour concentrated beams into Psykos' aircraft, flooding it with more energy than it can hold. Rather than break, Psykos banks that power and fires it back out through the very wound the two heroes opened, dropping both of them toward the ground. She lines up a killing shot on Tatsumaki, only for a huge slab of rock hurled by Tanktop Master to swat it aside. Fubuki amplifies the tank-top hero's muscle, and he rains boulders down on Psykos, handing the other fighters a breather.

Drive Knight rejoins Genos and asks to merge for greater output. Genos consents but cautions that his reactor is close to failing. Their combined form, Tactical Combination: Promoted Rook, freezes Psykos in midair. Tanktop Master then flings an entire building loaded with Kamikaze, Puri-Puri Prisoner, and Superalloy Darkshine, who chain together Atomic Beeline Slash, Vibration Dark Angel Rush, and Superalloy Missile to hammer the fusion earthward. Psykos splits away from Orochi as Bang and Bomb land their Cross Fang Dragon Slayer Fist on the downed beast. Tatsumaki readies the finishing blow on Orochi while the ground starts to quake.

Deeper down, Flashy Flash reports his arm trapped under something crushing, and Saitama uncovers a cube-shaped object much like the one Blast carried in the earlier flashback. Before Flash can wrench himself loose, Tatsumaki tears away the earth overhead, snapping Instakill, his katana, which was lodged in the same wreckage. She feeds psychic power into the spire above and swings it toward Orochi for the kill.

Manako tries to slip out through the gap that had pinned Flash's arm, but the trio spots something eerie waiting there: an enormous humanoid shape curled into a fetal pose, resembling God. Stars scatter across the space around it, suggesting the three are peering past the boundary of reality into somewhere far within the cosmos.

This installment corresponds to online release 138 and shares its VIZ Media title, Into the Abyss. It partially adapts webcomic chapter 78. The cover features Saitama, Flashy Flash, and Manako, and God appears only by presumption at the chapter's close.
