Hironobu Kageyama

Kageyama is the defining voice of Dragon Ball Z's soundtrack, having recorded an extraordinary number of vocal pieces across the series and films. He performed the beloved opening 'Cha-La Head-Cha-La,' the second opening 'We Gotta Power,' and over 40 additional insert songs covering character themes, battle moments, and emotional peaks. His voice became inseparable from DBZ's global identity, earning him the nickname 'Mr. DBZ' among fans. He continued recording Dragon Ball material for more than a decade after the anime's conclusion, cementing his place in franchise history.

Kageyama achieved stardom as lead singer of the pop group Lazy before transitioning to solo work in the early 1980s. He earned the title 'Prince of Anime/Tokusatsu Songs' for his prolific output across anime and live-action series. Beyond Dragon Ball, he fronts the vocal group JAM Project and hosts the variety show Anipara Ongakukan. His influence extends across several generations of anime fans and he remains active in anime music production.
