Luca Ghignone

Ghignone assumed the role of Piccolo's Italian voice from episode 30 of Dragon Ball Super onward, stepping into a position previously held by veteran voice actor Alberto Olivero. Piccolo underwent significant character development and prominence during the Super era, requiring the new voice actor to balance the character's serious demeanor with his occasional dry humor. Ghignone's continuation of the role helped maintain character consistency for Italian audiences across the series' later episodes.

Ghignone studied theater at the Center D and the Sergio Tofano theater school in Turin, taking courses in dramatic performance before pivoting to dubbing work in 2004. His background in theatrical training informed his approach to voice acting, allowing him to create nuanced performances across multiple characters. Beyond Dragon Ball Super, he has performed in various theatrical productions alongside his dubbing career.
