Bluejam

A man of great height and bulk, Bluejam wore short striped hair across the top of his head, while the rest hung long and unkempt down either side. Roughly half of his molars were absent, alternating across his jaw. Completing the picture, his attire amounted to a captain's jacket of traditional style worn atop a white shirt.

A cruel streak ran through Bluejam, who shot his own subordinate Porchemy dead for failure. He was equally treacherous, claiming a liking for strong people in order to draw Ace and Luffy close, all as a scheme to make them haul explosives into the Gray Terminal before tying them down to die once they refused to enlist. What defined him most was his longing to rise into the nobility for the riches and comfort it would bring, and he eagerly accepted when Goa's king pledged that title in return for razing the Terminal and slaughtering its residents. The bargain ruined him, for his backers turned on him and abandoned him to die in the very inferno he had lit. He also held that on the battlefield only the strong and the cowardly endured.

Widely known and feared throughout the East Blue, Bluejam carried a bounty exceeding fourteen million Berries, a notable figure where anything past ten million stood out, and his will proved firm enough to withstand a surge of Ace's Haki even as his entire crew collapsed. His weapons included a flintlock, which he used to kill Porchemy, a rifle during the burning of the Gray Terminal, and a long pirate sabre he could draw and raise against Curly Dadan's strike within moments.

After Ace and Sabo robbed him of money to purchase a pirate ship and Porchemy fell to the pair, Sabo's father, Outlook III, paid Bluejam to retrieve the boy and to ensure Ace and Luffy would never trouble Sabo again. Instead of killing them on the spot, he talked them into moving crates to marked spots on a map, boxes that in truth held oil and explosives intended to set Trash Mountain ablaze and wipe out everyone there. Goa's king had promised him noble status should the job succeed. Once the plan was set in motion, however, Bluejam and his men were tricked and shut out beyond the Great Gate, left to perish in the fire they themselves had started.

The nobles pinned the blame for the blaze on his crew, supposedly to deter any visit by the World Nobles. Bluejam tried to reach his ship, found it already burning, and then caught sight of Ace and Luffy. Enraged, he threatened to kill them unless they revealed where their treasure lay. Ace gave up the location, and Bluejam's men moved to seize the two boys, only to be stopped by Dadan and her Mountain Bandits. The bandits rescued the children, but when Bluejam goaded him, Ace remained to fight, with Dadan staying as well out of responsibility. After a short clash the two of them overcame Bluejam. His fate is unconfirmed, though he most likely died in the fire his crew had caused.
