Chida provided background art across multiple early Dragon Ball sagas, painting the environments for episodes spanning the Emperor Pilaf Saga through the General Blue Saga. His contributions include the distinctive backgrounds for episodes like "The Ox King on Fire Mountain" and the tournament grounds, establishing the lush and varied landscapes of Goku's early journey. He also created backgrounds for Dragon Ball theatrical films, including Curse of the Blood Rubies and Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle.
