Appearance

A faint blush sits permanently on the cheeks of this youthful-looking girl. Her eyes are large and purple, set beneath long black hair that carries a violet sheen. Parted at the center, her hair frames her face with two opposing strands and is otherwise gathered into pigtails tied off in pink. Her usual outfit pairs a white tee stamped with the pink Urahara Shop logo and a pink, knee-length skirt speckled by white dots. In the seventeen months following Aizen's defeat she drops the pigtails, trims the strands at her face shorter, takes to a school uniform, and wears a noticeably lighter blush.

Personality

Reserved and bashful, Ururu treats those around her with unfailing politeness and gladly pitches in when asked. A single mistake, like selling a customer faulty goods, can reduce her to tears and apologies. Her demeanor shifts sharply when she is hurt or when Hollows draw near, turning flat and mechanical as her worldview narrows to a stark divide between friend and threat, with anything that means harm marked for elimination. Even so, she never turns on Jinta Hanakari, who bosses her about and picks on her despite being three years her junior, and the two are forever squabbling. The meekness masks tremendous strength, and after the seventeen-month gap she carries herself with a calmer, more grown-up composure.

History

Ururu earns her keep at the Urahara Shop alongside Jinta, Tessai, and Kisuke Urahara. Early on she takes part in the group's outings, from recovering the mod soul Kon to accompanying Urahara on errands around town. When Ichigo Kurosaki loses his powers, she serves as his training partner, sparring hard enough that Urahara judges her capable of holding her own against a Shinigami. Under Don Kanonji's Karakura Superheroes she fights as Karakura Pink, and she wields a bulky multi-barreled shoulder cannon, the Senren Bakusatsu Taihō, which can snare targets in a launched sheet of cloth.

Her hidden ferocity surfaces during the Arrancar assault on Karakura, when Yylfordt Granz's strange Reiatsu triggers her Slaughter Mode. Sleepwalking onto a rooftop, she launches herself at him, splits his face with a kick, throttles him, and hammers him with punches until the enraged Arrancar enters his Resurrección and gores her chest on a horn. Tessai heals the wound at Urahara's side. Her strength, speed, and combat skill all far outstrip her frail appearance, and a lone kick is enough to draw an Arrancar's blood. The book Can't Fear Your Own World later confirms that she and Jinta are Modified Souls crafted by Urahara, akin to Nemu Kurotsuchi.
