Biography and Story Role

Cymbal is a Mutated Namekian and King Piccolo's third offspring created after his release from the Electric Rice Cooker. Unlike the pterodactyl-shaped Piano or the humanoid Tambourine, Cymbal resembles a large dragon, standing about 5'11" and weighing 253 lbs. He was born on May 8, Age 753, and died the same day.

King Piccolo creates Cymbal specifically to track down and collect the Dragon Balls while Tambourine hunts down martial artists. Cymbal locates a Dragon Ball in the possession of Yajirobe, a wandering swordsman who had been roasting a fish in the wilderness. When Cymbal demands the Dragon Ball, Yajirobe refuses and a fight breaks out.

Despite his intimidating appearance, Cymbal is quickly dispatched by Yajirobe, who slices him in half with his katana. In a darkly humorous turn, Yajirobe then roasts and eats Cymbal, treating the defeated Namekian spawn as additional food. King Piccolo senses Cymbal's death and sends Tambourine to investigate, setting off a chain of events that leads to Tambourine's own defeat at Goku's hands.
