Dr. Kochin is the loyal assistant of Dr. Wheelo and the primary antagonist orchestrating events in Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest. He appears elderly and frail but is revealed to be a robot.
Dr. Kochin is a biotechnology expert who serves as the devoted assistant to Dr. Wheelo, a brilliant scientist whose brain was preserved after his body was destroyed. When Dr. Wheelo's laboratory becomes trapped under ice for fifty years, Kochin dedicates himself to freeing his master.
Kochin collects the Dragon Balls and uses them to melt the ice imprisoning Dr. Wheelo's fortress. He then kidnaps Master Roshi, believing him to be the strongest fighter in the world, intending to transfer Wheelo's brain into Roshi's body. When it becomes clear that Goku is actually the strongest, Kochin shifts his focus accordingly.
He commands several bio-warriors created through his expertise, including Misokatsun, Kishime, and Ebifurya. These creatures serve as guards within the fortress. Near the climax of the film, it is revealed that Kochin himself is actually a robot, his elderly human appearance merely a shell. Despite his mechanical nature, he remains fanatically loyal to Dr. Wheelo until his destruction. He carries a small cane that doubles as a weapon, capable of firing energy blasts.
