Biography and Story Role

Oolong first appeared as a terrorizing presence in Aru Village, using his shapeshifting abilities to frighten the locals and kidnap young women. When Goku and Bulma arrived searching for Dragon Balls, they quickly exposed Oolong as a fraud. His transformations could only last for five minutes at a time, severely limiting his ability to maintain any deception. After being defeated, he reluctantly joined the group.

Oolong's greatest contribution to the series came at its very beginning. When Emperor Pilaf gathered all seven Dragon Balls and prepared to wish for world domination, Oolong shouted out a wish for a pair of women's underwear before Pilaf could finish speaking. This absurd moment saved the world and set the tone for Dragon Ball's unique blend of comedy and adventure.

As the series progressed into Dragon Ball Z and beyond, Oolong's role diminished significantly. He remained a background character, occasionally appearing at social gatherings and during moments of crisis, but he never participated in serious combat. His primary function became comic relief, though his presence served as a link back to the more lighthearted early days of the franchise.
