End of Earth

EpisodeEp. 277

Kid Buu's true nature is revealed through a flashback spanning five million years. He destroyed the West and North Supreme Kais, absorbed the South and Grand Supreme Kais, and was only tamed by the Grand Supreme Kai's gentle soul. Now stripped of all absorbed influences, Kid Buu destroys the Earth. Kibito Kai barely rescues Goku, Vegeta, Dende, Mr. Satan, and Bee before the planet is gone.

Five Million Years of Terror

Kid Buu stands on a cliff edge, silent and twitching. Mr. Satan dismisses him as a child, but Dende warns against engaging. On the Sacred World of the Kai, Kibito Kai recounts the full history of Majin Buu to his predecessor, Old Kai.

Five million years ago, the evil wizard Bibidi created Kid Buu as a weapon of pure destruction. The creature annihilated entire worlds before turning on the Supreme Kais themselves. The West Supreme Kai and North Supreme Kai were killed outright. The South Supreme Kai fought valiantly, tearing off one of Buu's arms, but was ultimately absorbed, creating a massive, muscular form. That form then overwhelmed the East Supreme Kai before the Grand Supreme Kai intervened, blasting Buu to pieces. Buu regenerated and absorbed the Grand Supreme Kai as well, but the gentle elder's soul diluted the monster's evil, producing the fat, childlike Buu that Babidi eventually unsealed.

Pure Evil Unbound

Old Kai grasps the full weight of the situation. The Grand Supreme Kai's absorption was both a defeat and a containment measure; his kindness suppressed Buu's worst impulses for millions of years. Now that every foreign influence has been stripped away, what remains is the original creature: irrational, insatiable, and driven by nothing but the urge to destroy.

Kid Buu powers up with a piercing screech that levels the surrounding terrain. He fires a Calamity Blaster at the Earth, which Vegeta deflects while demanding that Buu at least try to fight them directly. The villain responds by charging an even larger attack, one powerful enough to destroy the planet ten times over. Goku reads Kid Buu's intent clearly: the monster plans to obliterate the Earth and simply regenerate in the void of space.

The Planet Falls

Goku tells Vegeta to grab their sons and Piccolo while he prepares Instant Transmission. But Kid Buu's attack arrives too fast. In the chaos, Goku can only reach Mr. Satan, Dende, and Bee. He tries to focus his mind for the teleportation, but the energy bombardment breaks his concentration. At the final second, Kibito Kai materializes beside them and warps the group to the Sacred World of the Kai.

The Earth detonates. Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, Tien, Chiaotzu, and every remaining living creature on the planet perish in the blast. On the Sacred World, Vegeta erupts in fury at Goku for saving a dog and a human instead of their children. Amid the debris of what was once Earth, Kid Buu begins to reform, ready to hunt down whatever remains. Episode 277 closes the Fusion Saga and opens the final chapter of Dragon Ball Z.
