Monster Form

Monster Form is the specific term for Zarbon's beast-like combat transformation, where his handsome exterior gives way to a hulking, reptilian warrior. The transformation roughly doubles his fighting power, making it a critical tactical advantage during the Namek Saga. Zarbon despised the form because of its ugly appearance, preferring to fight in his elegant base state whenever possible.

The Monster Form approximately doubles the user's battle power. Zarbon went from roughly 23,000 to over 30,000 when he transformed. This increase was sufficient to overwhelm Vegeta during their first encounter on Namek.

After Zarbon left Vegeta for dead during their first fight, the Saiyan prince was healed in a rejuvenation chamber and grew significantly stronger due to the Saiyan ability to gain power after recovering from near-death injuries. When Zarbon resorted to his Monster Form again, the power gap had narrowed and Vegeta had actually surpassed it. Vegeta defeated and killed Zarbon, demonstrating that a fixed transformation can be overtaken by an opponent who is constantly growing stronger.

The Monster Form represented everything Zarbon despised about himself: a raw, ugly, bestial state that abandoned the refinement he cultivated so carefully. Zarbon was extraordinarily vain, taking great pride in his handsome appearance. He only transformed when Vegeta proved too strong for his base form, despite his revulsion at the bestial look.

Zarbon's Monster Form is the definitive example, but other alien fighters possess similar bestial transformations. The Monster Form is a specific instance of the broader Charging Form transformation type. Ganos and other alien combatants display comparable beast-mode shifts that trade physical refinement for raw power.
