A Capsule Corporation spacecraft designed by Bulma for the Black Star Dragon Ball hunt, shaped like an octopus, powered by water, and storable in capsule form.
The Grand Tour Spaceship is a spacecraft manufactured by Capsule Corporation and designed by Bulma specifically for the mission to retrieve the Black Star Dragon Balls from across the galaxy. The ship uses water as fuel and can be compressed into capsule form for easy storage and transport. Goku nicknamed it "the octopus" due to its resemblance to the sea creature.
Bulma, Videl, and Gohan prepared the ship for Goku and Trunks. Pan unexpectedly took Goten's place on the crew, joining the expedition as the ship's third member. Together, the trio used the Grand Tour Spaceship to visit numerous planets during the Black Star Dragon Ball Saga, including Imecka, Monmaasu, Gelbo, Beehay, Planet Luud, Rudeeze, M-2, Pital, Tigere, Cretaceous, and Polaris.
The journey got off to a rough start. Shortly after leaving Earth, a piece of the ship broke off, forcing an emergency landing on the planet Imecka to obtain replacement parts. The planet's despotic ruler, Don Kee, had made it illegal for ordinary citizens to own ships, and he promptly confiscated the Grand Tour Spaceship. Goku, Trunks, and Pan had to fight to retrieve it, becoming wanted criminals on the planet in the process. After Goku defeated Don Kee's bodyguard Ledgic, the trio taught the ruler a lesson and convinced him to return money and ships to the Imeckian people.
The crew continued traveling from planet to planet in the ship until all seven Black Star Dragon Balls were recovered and they returned safely to Earth.
