Rings used by Supreme Kais to travel through time. Unlike the Time Machine, they allow "natural" time travel that does not create alternate timelines. Green Time Rings correspond to timelines created by other means.
Time Rings are kept in a special box within each universe's Supreme Kai realm. A silver ring represents the main timeline, while green rings materialize automatically whenever a new alternate timeline is created (typically by Time Machine usage). The number of green rings therefore indicates how many times someone has altered the past.
To use a Time Ring, the wearer must also possess a Potara earring, linking the two accessories to the Supreme Kai office. The rings are primarily designed for traveling to the future and returning to the present; traveling to the past is normally not permitted. However, Goku Black exploited a loophole by using his ring to follow the time distortion created by Future Trunks' Time Machine, allowing him to pursue Trunks into the past.
A crucial property of the Time Ring is that it grants the wearer immunity to changes in their personal history. When Beerus destroyed the present-timeline Zamasu, Goku Black continued to exist because his Time Ring shielded him from the alteration. If a silver ring is destroyed (as when Future Zeno erased an entire timeline), the corresponding green rings vanish as well, though other methods of time travel can still reach those timelines. The rings were last used by a Supreme Kai of Universe 10 approximately 400 years before the events of Dragon Ball Super.
