Goku arrives in West City for the first time and quickly learns that the big city runs on money, directions, and rules he does not understand. Between a prizefighting challenge, a pair of back-alley muggers, and a helpful police officer, he finally tracks down Bulma at Capsule Corporation.
Goku hops off the Flying Nimbus into the middle of downtown traffic, gawking at the crowds and towers. The first driver he flags down has no idea where Bulma lives and speeds off. A woman with a stroller gives him the same blank stare. A taxi is happy to pick him up until the driver learns the destination is unknown and the fare has no money, at which point Goku gets dumped back on the curb. It slowly sinks in that in this strange city, finding out where someone lives actually costs something.
A commotion down the block draws his attention. A cocky boxer is offering a hundred thousand zeni to anyone who can beat him. Goku volunteers, and the man laughs him off until a light jab folds him over. The boxer notices this little kid clearly knows kenpo and tries to fight for real, only for Goku to leap up, kick him in the face, and then put his follow-up kick straight through a brick wall. The shaken boxer coughs up the prize money on the spot.
Strolling away with his cash, Goku is pulled into an alley by a pair of thugs working for Hasky. One flashes a pistol, the other a knife, but a single headbutt flattens them both. The surviving goon politely suggests that a policeman would be more helpful than criminals for finding an address. Goku asks a passing girl where to find an officer and hands her his entire winnings as a thank-you. The officer he reaches cannot work with a crude drawing of Bulma, so he runs the unusual name through his computer. The second hit matches: daughter of the owner of Capsule Corporation. Stunned, he insists on giving Goku a ride on his scooter. At the enormous Capsule Corp dome, Goku jumps off and starts bellowing for Bulma at the top of his lungs.
