Mercenary Tao arrives at the Sacred Land of Korin aboard his flying pillar and announces he has come to kill Goku. Bora steps forward to defend the boy, but the assassin moves so quickly even Goku cannot follow him. The brutal introduction ends with a shocking Dodon Ray that changes everything.
Upa spots something streaking through the sky, and moments later Mercenary Tao nearly crashes his flying pillar on top of them. Climbing down, Tao coldly introduces himself as a hired killer and informs Goku that the Red Ribbon Army has sent him. Goku's anger flares, but Bora steps in front of the boy first, vowing to protect the child who saved his own son's life earlier that day. The proud tribal warrior charges with his spear held high, determined to defend the Sacred Land.
Tao catches the spear between two fingers with such speed that even Goku cannot track the motion. Humiliating the tribesman further, Tao balances the heavy weapon on a single fingertip before growing bored of the exchange. He flings Bora high into the air, then flatly asks whether he would like his spear back and hurls it after him. The blade punches clean through Bora's chest, and the warrior's body crashes to the earth in front of his sobbing son. Upa runs to the fallen body in raw grief while Goku trembles with fury.
Rage overtakes Goku, and he rushes wildly at the assassin. Tao sidesteps the charge with an amused smirk and boots Goku hard enough to send him flying into the base of Korin Tower. Believing the boy is dead, Tao turns away, only to watch Goku struggle upright and unleash a full Kamehameha. When the dust settles, Tao stands entirely unharmed, his only complaint being that his elegant suit has been shredded by the blast. Incensed over the ruined outfit, he levels a finger at Goku and roars out his signature attack, firing a searing Dodon Ray from his fingertip. The beam slams directly into Goku's chest. As Upa stares in horror at the motionless boy, Tao calmly scoops up the sack of Dragon Balls and declares the contract complete.
