The opening bout of the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament pits Yamcha against the intimidating three-eyed newcomer Tien Shinhan. After trading blocked strikes and blistering aerial exchanges, Yamcha refuses to back down and prepares to unleash his most devastating attack: the Kamehameha taught to him by Master Roshi.
The first quarterfinal match of the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai pits Yamcha against the mysterious three-eyed fighter Tien Shinhan. The two warriors size each other up before Yamcha springs forward with a flying kick. Tien calmly deflects the strike and counters with a rapid series of jabs that Yamcha only narrowly slips. A follow-up kick sends Yamcha tumbling into a string of back handsprings to create distance. Refusing to stay on the defensive, Tien kicks off the arena wall and rockets in with a straight punch, but Yamcha leaps clear and catches him with a downward strike that drives him back toward the stone tiles.
Both combatants land and the watching crowd erupts, each fighter silently taking the measure of his opponent. Yamcha declares his new creation, the Neo Wolf Fang Fist, and Tien smirks at the dramatic name before accepting the challenge. The two collide in a whirlwind of motion, but Tien reads every strike cleanly, blocking the entire combination before burying a fist deep into Yamcha's midsection. The desert bandit doubles over and drops hard to the tiles, yet he forces himself upright with grim determination.
Krillin struggles to guess what Yamcha is setting up next, but Goku recognizes the stance immediately and names the technique: Kamehameha. Jackie Chun leans forward with genuine interest, curious to see another student of his style attempt the signature wave. Yamcha cups his hands at his side and begins the familiar chant. As the blue light swells between his palms, Tien raises his own hands in a peculiar formation, index fingers pointed outward, preparing to meet the incoming blast head-on rather than evade it.
