Manga ChapterCh. 126

Balloon and Bluff

Goku bounds skyward to cut down the descending Kuririn, certain a single kick will finish things. Kuririn, however, fills his lungs until he puffs up like a blowfish, drifting lightly above Goku's boot before deflating and touching down without a scratch. Goku rebounds off the back wall, lands clean, and compliments his friend, admitting this is the most fun he has ever had in a brawl. Both boys are beaming, and at the edge of the crowd Kame-Sen'nin climbs onto his walking staff to catch a better view of his students going all out.

A Kamehameha With a Twist

Goku then charges forward with the familiar chant, drawing out each syllable of "Ka-me-ha-me," and everyone expects a blast aimed squarely at Kuririn. Instead, Goku launches the wave into the air above him and rides the recoil like a slingshot, rocketing straight into Kuririn with a punch to the jaw and a knee driven hard into his stomach. The audience gasps at the sheer aggression. Kuririn hauls himself upright just before the count reaches ten, flushed and furious, grumbling that there was nothing fun about that opener.

Finding the Weak Point

Kuririn storms back in, only to be slapped to the ground again with humiliating ease. This time he takes a breath, sprints across the ring to buy thinking room, then settles into a Kamehameha stance of his own. Goku warns him the move will not do a thing, and when the blue wave arrives he simply extends a palm and lets it detonate harmlessly against his hand. The moment the glare clears, though, Kuririn is nowhere in front of him. The little monk has used the flash to dart around behind his opponent, and now he clamps down on Goku's tail, loudly declaring this his secret weakness. In the stands Tenshinhan tilts his head at the news, while Kame-Sen'nin can only admire how cleverly Kuririn has set up the trap.
