Weakened from his tournament bout, Goku confronts Tambourine and is badly outmatched. The demon destroys the Flying Nimbus with a mouth blast and knocks Goku deep into the jungle. Aboard Pilaf's airship, King Piccolo posts the tournament roster on the wall and begins planning the systematic execution of every finalist.
Tambourine spots Goku catching up and pauses mid-flight, still clutching the fighter registration sheet and the Four-Star Dragon Ball. The sight of his grandfather's heirloom in the demon's grip pushes Goku over the edge, and he demands both the ball and retribution for Krillin. Tambourine laughs, recalling how easily he disposed of the small bald brat. Goku lunges, but the creature dodges every swing and boots him off the Flying Nimbus. Though Kinto-Un scoops him back up, Goku realizes he spent nearly all his stamina during the tournament. Tambourine fires a mouth beam that obliterates the golden cloud and hammers Goku into a dense jungle below, leaving the boy face down and broken on the forest floor.
Night has fallen when the scene returns to the tournament grounds. The group is still waiting on Goku, and tempers are fraying. Yamcha warns that the rest of them are likely on the hit list too, while Oolong tries to weasel out by claiming he has nothing to do with any of this. Bulma snaps that it affects everyone if Piccolo seizes the world. Tien raises the Mafuba, but Roshi refuses to entertain the idea. The announcer worries about alerting authorities, and Roshi warns it would only spark mass panic. They decide to return to Kame House and leave word with the announcer in case Goku turns up.
Daylight returns over Pilaf's airship as Tambourine hands over the stolen ball and registration sheet. Piccolo orders the ten years worth of fighter profiles mounted on a wall so he can track each target. Pilaf's minions volunteer to help. Posters of Namu, Ranfan, and Krillin go up one by one, though the demon insists the bald one can be removed since he is already dead. Mai flips to a certain page and gasps. Their old enemy, the runner-up of two tournaments, has been listed. Tambourine insists that target is also finished, boasting that current martial artists are weak if a kid like that placed so high. Piccolo decides against carelessness while Goku lies motionless in the jungle.
