King Piccolo births a second dragon henchman called Cymbal and dispatches him to gather the remaining Dragon Balls while Tambourine continues hunting fighters. At Kame House the team hatches a plan to revive Krillin, only to learn via news bulletin that Namu has already been murdered. Meanwhile, Goku finally stirs awake in the jungle.
King Piccolo fantasizes about reclaiming his lost youth, then summons Tambourine and orders him to resume killing every notable martial artist on the registration list. When the winged demon asks who will retrieve the Dragon Balls, his master declares he will birth another servant. Piano warns that producing an egg in his weakened state is risky, but Piccolo insists that the wish will restore him shortly. After a brief chant he coughs up a massive egg, which hatches into a plump, winged dragon he names Cymbal. Pilaf points out the next Dragon Ball's position on the giant radar globe, and Cymbal takes flight alongside Tambourine, whose next target is Namu.
The group back at the island has brought Tien and Chiaotzu up to speed on the Dragon Balls. Bulma declares that their one wish must be used to restore Krillin to life. Yamcha worries Piccolo will gather the orbs first, and Puar points out that Shenlong cannot revive someone who has been dead longer than a year. Oolong adds that waiting too long would leave Krillin as a walking corpse, which is why Bulma intends to build a refrigeration capsule to preserve the body. Roshi mumbles to himself and gets slapped after ogling Bulma, then Launch points at the television: breaking news reports Namu has been murdered, with another demon calling card left behind.
Realizing the other finalists are in grave danger, Tien worries about worldwide panic. Bulma estimates she can throw together a new Dragon Radar in about half a day if she hurries, and the group soon boards a plane to take action. Far off in the jungle, Goku finally stirs. A delicious smell drifts through the trees, and he weakly pushes himself up before bolting toward the source, where a large fish has been set to roast over an open fire.
