Shenron Destroyed

King Piccolo revels in his rejuvenated body, savoring every ounce of his restored strength. Before Shenron can depart, Piccolo raises his head and fires a massive Mouth Energy Wave directly at the dragon. The blast tears through Shenron's colossal form, and the Eternal Dragon disintegrates in a burst of light. Piano and the Pilaf Gang look on in stunned horror. Tien, still paralyzed on the ground below, watches the unthinkable act unfold before his battered body finally gives out and he loses consciousness.

Miles away, Goku glances at his Dragon Radar and notices every signal has vanished simultaneously. He deduces that Piccolo must have summoned the dragon, though the specifics of the wish remain unknown. The loss of the signals weighs heavily on Goku as he and Yajirobe press onward. They soon arrive at the base of Korin Tower, where Upa and Bora greet them with a mixture of joy and alarm at Goku's battered condition.

Discarded Allies and New Resolve

Aboard the airship, Piccolo continues basking in his power while Piano observes approvingly. Emperor Pilaf musters the courage to approach and sheepishly asks how much of the world Piccolo intends to share with him. Piccolo responds coldly that the Pilaf Gang has outlived its usefulness. When Pilaf nervously laughs the remark off as a joke, Piccolo blasts a hole in the floor and drops Pilaf, Mai, and Shu through it. They plummet toward the ground far below.

The Climb Begins

At the tower's base, Goku tells Bora and Upa that he needs to reach the top and train with Korin once more. Bora warns that Goku's injuries make the climb impossible, but Goku declares that Yajirobe will carry him up. Yajirobe flatly refuses until Goku mentions the legendary Senzu Beans waiting at the summit. The promise of food changes Yajirobe's mind immediately, and Bora offers to help launch them upward. Far below the airship, the Pilaf Gang lies bruised in a crater, somehow alive after their fall, their alliance with the Demon King finished forever.
