Korin says the water draws out any latent power still dormant inside the drinker's body, but warns that the substance is an extremely potent poison. Korin admits that he himself once tried a sip and had to spit it out immediately. He adds that fourteen powerful fighters have attempted the trial before, and every single one of them died.

Yajirobe protests that the so-called divine water sounds like nothing more than regular poison with a fancy name. Goku does not waver. He declares that drinking the water is the only path that can give him the strength to avenge Krillin, Master Roshi, and Chiaotzu. Yajirobe tries once more to talk him out of it, but Goku's resolve is absolute. Korin brings the Ultra Divine Water forward, and Yajirobe decides to taste a tiny drop first. The moment the liquid touches his tongue he spits it out violently, his face twisted in disgust. Goku takes the cup and drains every drop in one gulp.

Through the Fire

The effect is instantaneous. Goku crashes to the floor of the tower, his body convulsing as the poison tears through him. He writhes in agony, clutching at his chest as the toxin wages war against his constitution. Yajirobe watches helplessly, worried that his companion is about to become the fifteenth casualty of the Ultra Divine Water.

His first attempt misses the Electric Rice Cooker entirely, but he vows to master the sealing technique no matter what it takes. Back on Korin Tower, six brutal hours pass. Dawn breaks, and Goku's body finally overcomes the poison. He sits up slowly, the pain gone, and announces with quiet confidence that he is overflowing with power. In the same moment, Tien completes a successful Evil Containment Wave, sealing the energy perfectly into the container.
