Guess Who's Back?

Manga ChapterCh. 155

Goku arrives at King Castle and obliterates Drum with a single devastating knee strike, stunning both King Piccolo and Tien Shinhan with his newfound power. As the young warrior squares off against the Demon King himself, their clash shakes the castle grounds, with Goku matching Piccolo blow for blow in a fierce opening exchange.

Drum's Downfall

Goku's knee smashes through Drum's right eye, sending the massive demon crashing lifelessly to the ground. Both King Piccolo and Tien Shinhan stare in disbelief at the young fighter's entrance. Tien recognizes immediately that Goku's power has grown enormously since they last fought together. Piccolo seethes with fury that this child continues to stand against him, but Goku declares plainly that he will not die until the Demon King is defeated.

The Allies in Transit

Meanwhile, Bulma, Yamcha, and Launch race toward King Castle in an airplane. Launch, currently in her aggressive blonde form, warns that Piccolo will pay dearly if anything has happened to Tien. Yamcha admits that her fiery personality comes in handy during moments like these. Almost on cue, Launch sneezes and reverts to her gentle blue-haired self, cheerfully asking whether they are heading out for a picnic.

Elsewhere, Oolong and the remaining allies set off to recover the bodies of Master Roshi and Chiaotzu, both killed during the battle against Piccolo's forces.

The Demon King Fights Back

At the castle, Piccolo boasts that Goku will perish within five seconds and lunges forward. Goku blocks the attack cleanly, then catches Piccolo's follow-up punch and hurls the Demon King through a nearby building. The structure collapses, but Piccolo rises from the rubble. Goku calmly notes that five seconds have already passed.

Enraged, Piccolo takes to the air and fires an energy blast. Goku leaps to dodge, but Piccolo lands and fires again at the airborne Goku, who has no room to evade. Goku raises his arms to shield himself, and the blast sends him rocketing backward. Despite the impact, he snags a spike protruding from a castle tower, swings to safety, and lands on his feet. A visibly shaken Piccolo demands to know what Goku truly is.
