Goku's Final Gamble

The Hostage Gambit

With Tien Shinhan gripped firmly by the head, Piccolo orders Goku not to move. Tien shouts at Goku to ignore the threat and just kill Piccolo, insisting his own life does not matter. Piccolo silences Tien by beginning to squeeze his skull. Goku yells for him to stop and agrees to comply with whatever Piccolo demands.

Satisfied that Goku is cooperating, Piccolo picks up a rock and hurls it at Goku with enough force to shatter his left arm. He lectures Goku that humanity's greatest weakness is its compassion. Goku hesitates, then defiantly insists that somehow they will still find a way to stop him. Piccolo mocks the claim and asks how a crippled child plans to accomplish that.

The Dragon Balls Destroyed

Goku announces that he will fight Piccolo regardless, telling Tien to forgive him. He vows to revive Tien afterward with the Dragon Balls if the worst happens. Piccolo laughs and reveals that he already killed Shenron, meaning no wish can ever bring anyone back. Goku is horrified by the news and momentarily freezes. Piccolo exploits the opening, launching another rock that shatters Goku's left leg. The young warrior collapses, unable to stand.

Piccolo taunts Goku, comparing him to a helpless caterpillar squirming on the ground. With Goku completely incapacitated, Piccolo discards Tien, tossing him aside like a rag. He decides the hostage is no longer useful and turns his full attention to finishing off the boy who dared to oppose his reign of darkness.

One Arm, One Chance

Piccolo soars high into the sky to prepare a finishing dive attack. He savors the moment, intending to crush the one person who stood between him and total domination. As Piccolo plunges downward, Goku declares that the Demon King has made a critical miscalculation: he still has one working arm. Goku gathers every remaining scrap of energy into that arm, points it at the ground beneath him, and fires a Kamehameha straight down. The blast propels him upward like a rocket, hurtling directly toward the descending Piccolo. Goku pours everything into his fist as Piccolo braces to block the collision.
