Goku's Fight

Manga ChapterCh. 187

Piccolo reverts from his giant form and the two warriors clash at impossible speed, trading blows so fast that even Kami cannot track them. Goku improvises a Kamehameha rocket boost from his feet and lands a devastating double-fist strike, but Piccolo answers with a punishing Antenna Beam that leaves Goku reeling on the tiles.

A Battle Beyond Sight

Kami stirs back to consciousness and struggles to piece together what happened. Bulma panics at the sight of him, screaming that there are two King Piccolos, and Master Roshi quickly explains that Goku engineered a brilliant plan to free the Guardian from Piccolo's reversed Evil Containment Wave. On the arena floor, Piccolo shrinks back to his normal size and the two fighters rush at each other without a word. The exchange is so fast that the spectators lose track entirely, and even Kami, with divine senses, admits he cannot follow their movements.

Improvisation in Midair

Goku and Piccolo launch themselves skyward, hammering each other with rapid combinations. Piccolo seizes an opening and batters Goku with a devastating flurry of strikes that sends him plummeting back toward the ring. Instead of crashing into the tiles, Goku fires a Kamehameha from the soles of his feet, using the blast as a rocket booster. The improvised technique launches him upward on a column of energy and he slams both fists into Piccolo's face with everything he has. The impact sends both fighters spiraling toward the ground.

Kami Steps In

Before either of them can reset, Piccolo fires an Antenna Beam that catches Goku squarely, and Goku crashes into the ring, his body battered and bleeding. Piccolo touches down and charges toward the injured fighter to finish the job, but Kami leaps into the ring and catches Piccolo's fist in his palm. The Guardian urges Goku to let them fight together, insisting they can end this as a team. Goku refuses outright and tells Kami to back off, because any outside help would mean a disqualification and Piccolo would win the tournament by default. Kami reluctantly steps aside, and Piccolo wastes no time driving a savage punch into Goku that sends him crashing into the arena's back wall. Despite the pain, Goku pulls himself upright, unwilling to let anyone else bear the burden of this fight.
