The Last Gasp!

Methodical Destruction

Goku clutches the wound in his shoulder, blood pouring between his fingers, and coughs up more blood as the damage takes its toll. Piccolo climbs out of the crater and looms over the wounded fighter, announcing that the real punishment is about to begin. He stomps down on Goku's chest. Tien, Yamcha, and Krillin rush forward to intervene, but Piccolo blasts the ground in front of them with a crackling burst of electricity, forcing them back with a clear warning.

Breaking Every Limb

Goku manages to stand despite the hole in his shoulder, grateful that the beam missed his vital organs. Piccolo throws a punch, and Goku ducks beneath it and drives a fist into the demon's gut. Piccolo retaliates with a kick, and the two separate, both gasping for air. Piccolo notes with satisfaction that Goku is losing blood at a dangerous rate and that time favors the demon. He slams an elbow into Goku's temple, sending him to the ground. Before Goku can recover, Piccolo leaps and comes down on Goku's legs with his full weight, snapping them both. Piccolo taunts that this mirrors his father's battle against Goku, where the boy was left with only one working arm. This time, he will take that away too. A precise blast strikes Goku's remaining good arm, shattering it and leaving him unable to use any limb.

Kill the Guardian

Piccolo announces that one final attack will end everything and lifts off the ground. Kami calls out to Tien and begs him to kill the Guardian immediately. If Kami dies, Piccolo dies with him due to their shared life force. Kami insists the sacrifice is only temporary because Shenron can revive him, and Tien agrees. But Goku, lying broken on the ground, yells at them to stop. He tells them not to kill Kami, because he is going to win this fight. High above, Piccolo finishes charging and fires a blast straight down at the helpless fighter.
