Goku arrives at Capsule Corporation to find Dr. Brief finishing a spaceship built from his old Saiyan pod. Equipped with artificial gravity up to 100G, the ship is ready for travel and training. Goku blasts off without waiting for the stereo, beginning his six-day journey as Krillin and Gohan close in on a Namekian village under Frieza's siege.
Goku hops off the Flying Nimbus at Capsule Corporation and runs into Bulma's mother, who walks him to the hangar. Dr. Brief is surprised to see Goku already healed. The ship's interior is spacious, built to Goku's specifications. In the center sits a control panel with an artificial gravity switch and a controller scaling up to one hundred times Earth's pull. Dr. Brief warns that at 100G, Goku's sixty-kilogram body would weigh six tons. Goku brushes off the danger, saying he needs that intensity to surpass the enemy on Namek. Below deck, a staircase leads to living quarters with a bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom.
When Goku asks about the remaining holdup, Dr. Brief admits he has not decided where to place the stereo speakers. Goku insists he must leave right away and explains that Bulma's crew is stranded on Namek with Vegeta and powerful enemies. Dr. Brief shows him that all navigation data is loaded and a single button will launch the ship. Goku sits in the pilot seat, presses the button, and the ship rockets into the sky. Dr. Brief watches from below, marveling that it worked. Puar and Oolong rush outside to see it vanishing into the atmosphere.
Already far from Earth, Goku sets the artificial gravity to twenty times normal as his starting point, since King Kai's planet was only ten. He begins a regimen of push-ups and sit-ups under the crushing weight. On Namek, Krillin and Gohan creep up a cliff overlooking a cluster of dome-shaped houses. Below them stand Frieza, Zarbon, and Dodoria with Dragon Balls in hand. A soldier reports finding only five surviving Namekians. Krillin peers down at the villagers and notices for the first time how closely they resemble Piccolo and Kami.
