Vegeta on the Hunt

Vegeta marvels at his own growth, reflecting that his time on Earth was far from wasted if he can now defeat Dodoria so easily. He recalls Dodoria mentioning a pursuit of Earthlings and remembers sensing two notable power levels in the distance. Deciding he cannot afford interference, Vegeta flies off to investigate. Meanwhile, Gohan, Krillin, and Dende continue heading toward the cave where Bulma is hiding. They detect something approaching at tremendous speed. Krillin orders them to dive to a nearby island, puzzled that Dodoria could find them without a scouter.

A Close Call

Vegeta enters the area and notes that the two power signatures have vanished. He scans the surroundings but cannot pinpoint anyone. Gohan peeks upward and spots Vegeta hovering above, and they all press themselves flat against the ground. Vegeta drifts out of view, and the group exhales briefly. Krillin realizes that Vegeta must have learned to sense ki, the same ability the Earthlings use. Even worse, while Krillin and Gohan can suppress their own energy, Dende's small power level still registers. Vegeta picks up a faint signal and moves toward them, and Krillin believes they are finished.

Saved by a Fish

Just as Vegeta closes in, a giant fish leaps from the water below. Vegeta assumes the energy he detected belonged to the creature and abandons the search. He decides to secure just one of the remaining Dragon Balls so Frieza can never gather all seven, then steal Frieza's five later. Once Vegeta flies away, Krillin and Gohan catch their breath and head to Bulma's cave. They arrive to find a large capsule house set up deep inside. Bulma storms out, scolding them for leaving her alone, then notices Dende and calls him a tiny Piccolo-looking kid. Inside, Krillin and Gohan eat while Dende declines, explaining Namekians only drink water. Bulma then delivers exciting news: Goku contacted her and will arrive on Namek in six days, training at extreme intensity the entire way.
