After sneaking the Dragon Balls away from a sleeping Vegeta, Gohan, Krillin, and Dende race to summon the Namekian dragon before Frieza arrives. Dende chants the incantation in Namekian, calling forth Porunga, the God of Dreams, who offers three wishes. Their excitement fades when Porunga reveals he can only revive one person at a time.
After reuniting mid-flight, Dende shares a crucial detail with Krillin: Grand Elder Guru has revealed that the Namekian Dragon Balls require an incantation spoken in the Namekian language. Without it, no wish can be granted. The two head for Frieza's spaceship, where Gohan waits patiently while Vegeta sleeps inside.
When Krillin and Dende arrive, Gohan confirms that Vegeta is still napping. Krillin seizes the opportunity and proposes they take the Dragon Balls and summon the dragon before the Saiyan prince wakes up. Gohan and Dende quickly agree. Working quietly, the trio gathers all seven Namekian Dragon Balls and slips away from the ship undetected.
Their relief is brief. Both Gohan and Krillin sense Frieza approaching at tremendous speed. Dende wastes no time, chanting the summoning incantation in Namekian. The sky over Namek darkens instantly, and a colossal dragon erupts from the glowing orbs. Dende introduces the creature as Porunga, the God of Dreams.
Far away on his small planet in Other World, King Kai watches the spectacle alongside the fallen Z Fighters. Porunga announces that he will grant three wishes, a revelation that thrills Krillin, who is accustomed to Shenron's single-wish limitation on Earth.
Krillin immediately requests that all those killed by the Saiyans on Earth be brought back to life. Porunga, however, explains that he can only restore one individual per wish. King Kai relays this setback to the anxious group on his planet. Piccolo, unwilling to sit idle, demands a chance to speak directly with Gohan to coordinate the next move. The chapter closes with the heroes forced to choose carefully how to spend their limited wishes.
