With Goku still gathering energy for the Spirit Bomb, Piccolo buys time against Frieza on the dying battleground of Namek. When Gohan and Krillin land a surprise blast on the tyrant, Goku completes the massive technique. The enormous Spirit Bomb collides with Frieza, creating a devastating explosion that reshapes the planet's surface and leaves everyone wondering if the battle is truly over.
Piccolo stands battered but defiant, having just prevented Frieza from landing a killing blow. He urges Goku to unleash the Spirit Bomb immediately, but Goku insists he needs a bit more energy to complete it. Frieza grows increasingly irritated by the persistence of these fighters, dismissing them as pests unworthy of his attention. Just as the tyrant's patience runs out, an energy blast strikes him from behind. Both Frieza and Piccolo turn to discover its source: Gohan and Krillin, still fighting despite having donated most of their ki to Goku earlier. Piccolo is genuinely impressed that the two young warriors refuse to give up even in their weakened state.
Frieza, now thoroughly annoyed, decides to end things by destroying the entire planet. He begins charging a Death Ball, intending to wipe out Namek and everyone on it in a single devastating blast. However, before Frieza can complete the technique, Goku finishes gathering the colossal energy he needs. The Large Spirit Bomb, fed by the life force of countless beings, takes shape above him. Goku launches it directly at Frieza while the others watch with a mixture of hope and terror.
Frieza spots the enormous sphere bearing down on him and screams that it is nothing, planting his feet and attempting to push it back with raw power. For a moment, the tyrant strains against the Spirit Bomb's weight, but the gathered energy proves too great. The sphere overwhelms him and detonates in a blinding explosion that shakes the entire planet. On King Kai's world, the deity senses the impact and declares that Frieza has been defeated. Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu celebrate alongside him, believing the nightmare is finally over.
Back on Namek, the explosion has carved a massive crater into the ocean floor. Water rushes in to fill the wound in the planet's surface. Krillin and Gohan pull themselves onto a nearby rock, alive but shaken. They scan the horizon for any sign of Goku, Piccolo, or Frieza, unable to sense anyone's ki in the aftermath of the blast.
