The Coming of King Cold

The Fighters Assemble

Gohan flies toward the massive ki he senses, meeting Krillin along the way. Neither can identify what is happening. Above Earth, King Cold's enormous spaceship begins its descent. Yamcha and Vegeta, coming from Capsule Corporation, have already reached the projected landing zone. Bulma and Puar arrive in a small airplane. Despite the danger, Bulma insists on seeing Frieza in person, having missed the chance on Namek. Yamcha scolds her, but she waves him off. Tien and Chiaotzu arrive next. Tien and Vegeta exchange sharp words before Yamcha convinces them to set their differences aside.

Vegeta instructs everyone to suppress their power levels. Frieza's soldiers carry scouters, and any detectable reading will give away their position. He notes that Piccolo has already done so. Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu spot Piccolo standing motionless on a distant hill. Gohan and Krillin land moments later, confirming that Goku still has not returned.

The Ship Touches Down

Piccolo spots the spacecraft first. Vegeta warns them to walk rather than fly, since airborne movement would make them easy targets. As the ship settles and its hatches open, Yamcha and Tien stagger under the pressure of two massive ki signatures. Gohan tells them Frieza is capable of growing far stronger still. Despite the grim odds, Vegeta and Piccolo both declare they have no choice but to fight.

A Stranger Appears

Frieza and King Cold step out and survey Earth's landscape. King Cold asks whether Frieza will wait the three hours until Goku arrives. Frieza says he will spend the wait killing every Earthling he can find, so Goku arrives to nothing but corpses. King Cold says he only cares about eliminating Goku to preserve their supremacy. Frieza boasts that his upgraded body makes him stronger than ever and orders his soldiers to fan out. Before a single one can move, a lone figure descends from the sky and lands directly in front of the two tyrants.
