Vegeta vs. Android 18

Manga ChapterCh. 350

Super Saiyan Vegeta squares off against Android 18 on a mountain road in a fierce opening round. Vegeta lands several clean hits and fires a devastating Big Bang Attack, but 18 proves she is holding back just as much as he is. After absorbing his best shots, she begins hitting harder, and the tide of battle shifts.

Opening Blows

Android 18 wastes no time and charges at Vegeta with a rapid flurry of strikes. Vegeta manages to block every hit, and Android 17 concedes from the sidelines that the Saiyan is a capable fighter. One of 18's punches barely grazes past Vegeta's head, and he seizes the opening by grabbing her arm and hurling her into a nearby rock wall. He rushes after her and throws a punch that she narrowly dodges, then follows with a knee that she blocks. A solid right hook connects with her face and sends her skidding backward. Android 17 comments that Vegeta is considerably stronger than Dr. Gero's data predicted. The two combatants land on the road below, and Vegeta remarks that he can never tell when an android is hurt. He declares he will simply blast them into pieces so he never has to see their smug expressions again.

Big Bang Attack

A truck rolls up behind Android 18, and the oblivious driver shouts at both fighters to clear the road. Vegeta launches his Big Bang Attack at 18, who leaps into the air just in time. The blast obliterates the truck instead. Android 18 touches down on the opposite side of Vegeta, and he acknowledges she is quicker than expected. She counters that he was not using his full power, and Vegeta retorts that going all out would destroy the planet. Android 18 smirks and admits she has also been holding back. Vegeta dares her to stop, and she obliges by headbutting him squarely in the face.

The Tide Turns

Vegeta staggers, then charges and lands a punch to 18's stomach. She absorbs the blow without flinching, drives a knee into his chest, and swats him into a rock face. Future Trunks, Piccolo, Tien Shinhan, and Krillin arrive just in time to witness Vegeta pulling himself out of the crater his own body carved. Trunks asks if he is all right. Vegeta climbs free, calls them pests, and demands to know whether they actually think they can do anything he cannot.
