Horror on Live Television

Bulma phones Kame House and tells Krillin to tune in to channel 872. Krillin, Yamcha, and Master Roshi watch as a reporter describes the scene in Gingertown: piles of empty clothing litter the streets, and a rifle lies among them, suggesting residents tried to fight back. Krillin suspects the androids, but Bulma disagrees and tells him to wait for Gohan and Future Trunks to explain. The pair arrive soon after and watch the broadcast. Screaming erupts and police open fire at something offscreen. The gunfire stops abruptly, and the reporter moves to investigate. His expression shifts to shock as he stares at something behind the cameraman, then the signal cuts out. On a different channel, the feed shows the reporter's empty clothes on the pavement while screams echo in the distance before falling silent.

The Fusion of Kami and Piccolo

On the Lookout, Piccolo demands answers, and Kami tells him there is no need to explain because Piccolo will know everything once they merge. Piccolo is pleased Kami agreed so quickly, deducing the threat below must be dire enough to force his hand. He insists on being the dominant personality, and Kami accepts, noting that Piccolo is younger and far stronger. Kami will simply contribute his power and knowledge. He observes that much of Piccolo's old evil has faded and warns the fusion may be permanent. As his final act, Kami thanks Mr. Popo for years of faithful service. The two Namekians merge. Mr. Popo calls the new warrior Kami, but the fused Namekian corrects him, saying he is neither Piccolo nor Kami, only a Namekian who has forgotten his original name. He waves farewell and rockets off the Lookout.

Arrival at Gingertown

At Kame House, Future Trunks suspects the creature from the egg is behind the Gingertown vanishings and heads out to investigate despite warnings from the others. He tells Yamcha, Krillin, and Gohan to guard Goku from the androids. Piccolo, however, has already arrived. He lands in the deserted streets, catches sight of the creature, and calls it a freak of nature.
