Piccolo dominates the creature in Gingertown, battering it with overwhelming speed and strength granted by his fusion with Kami. The androids detect the fight from the road but dismiss it. After taking a beating, the creature reveals it traveled through time by reverting to egg form and stuns Piccolo by charging a Kamehameha, proving it carries Goku's techniques within its body.
Cell questions whether Piccolo is really not Piccolo, and the fused Namekian tells the creature it is catching on. En route to the battlefield, Future Trunks senses an unfamiliar but massive ki alongside Piccolo's. Krillin quickly identifies it as Piccolo's own energy, explaining that it must mean he merged with Kami. Future Trunks is shocked at the leap in power. In Gingertown, Piccolo remarks that it is convenient Cell already killed every resident, because now he does not have to hold back. He unleashes a devastating ki blast that engulfs the creature.
Future Trunks and Krillin feel the blast from a great distance. Android 17, still driving, suddenly stops the van. He and Android 18 exit and acknowledge a tremor in the air. Android 16 identifies two powerful fighters clashing near a suburb of West City and notes that one of them rivals Android 17 in strength. Android 17 dismisses this as a sensor malfunction, insisting no one is his equal. The trio climbs back in and continues toward Goku's house.
Cell survives the blast and gets back on his feet. Piccolo rushes in, and the two exchange rapid strikes. Cell swipes and misses, and Piccolo kicks him hard in the back. A second kick launches Cell into the air. When Cell lands, Piccolo taunts him, asking if that is all the fight he can muster. Cell admits Piccolo is skilled but insists he has not yet reached his Perfect form. Piccolo deduces that Cell has been draining people to gain energy, and Cell confirms it. Piccolo angrily demands to know who sent Cell through the Time Machine. Cell reveals he sent himself, having reverted to his larval egg form to fit inside the cockpit. He expresses surprise that Piccolo knows about the machine, then declares Piccolo will never anticipate his next move. Cell drops into a wide stance and begins charging a Kamehameha, leaving Piccolo stunned that the creature knows Goku's signature technique.
