The New Cell

Manga ChapterCh. 371

Semi-Perfect Cell, freshly empowered after absorbing Android 17, turns his sights on Android 18. When brute force and psychological manipulation both fail to draw her into submission, Tien Shinhan intervenes with a desperate barrage of Neo Tri-Beam blasts, buying the androids precious time to escape.

A Predator Transformed

With Android 17 now absorbed, Cell stands reborn in his Semi-Perfect Form, radiating power far beyond anything the remaining androids can withstand. He turns toward Android 18 and Android 16, both frozen in horror at the sight of their companion's fate. Before they can flee, Cell blocks their path and taunts them, boasting that escape is impossible given his newly acquired strength.

Android 16 throws a punch squarely into Cell's face, but the blow does nothing. Cell retaliates with a Big Bang Attack that blasts away half of 16's head. Turning to 18, Cell declares it is her turn to be absorbed so he can achieve his Perfect Form. Android 18 raises her hand to her chest and threatens to destroy herself if Cell takes another step.

A Voice from Within

Cell shifts tactics, speaking in Android 17's voice to manipulate 18. Posing as her brother, he insists that being part of Cell is wonderful and urges her to surrender willingly. Android 18 wavers for a moment, but Android 16, despite his shattered head, warns her that it is nothing more than a trick. Cell snaps at 16, saying a mere robot cannot understand what he and 18 share.

Continuing his ruse, Cell praises Dr. Gero and urges 18 to fulfill their creator's vision. This proves to be a fatal mistake. Android 18 recognizes the lie instantly; she and 17 despised Gero and would never speak well of him. The deception crumbles, and Cell scowls, preparing to take 18 by force.

Tien's Desperate Stand

Cell calculates that 18 cannot charge a self-destruction blast faster than he can reach her and tells her to give up. At that moment, a figure appears floating above him. Tien Shinhan, fully aware he is outclassed, fires a Neo Tri-Beam directly downward, slamming Cell into the ground and carving a massive crater. He screams at the stunned androids to run. Cell claws his way back up, but Tien hammers him down again with another blast. Android 18 flies to the damaged 16, confirms he can still fly, and the two take off. On the Lookout, Goku watches alongside Gohan and shouts for Tien to stop before the technique kills him.
