Goku Meets Cell

Tien Falls, Goku Arrives

Tien Shinhan continues hammering Cell with Neo Tri-Beam blasts as Android 18 helps the damaged Android 16 to his feet. The two androids take flight while Cell struggles against the barrage. On the Lookout, Goku yells at Tien to stop, but Tien fires one final blast before his body gives out entirely. He goes limp in midair and crashes to the ground, utterly spent.

Cell emerges from the crater and spots the fallen Tien. Though he acknowledges Tien was not especially powerful, Cell notes how effectively he stalled the pursuit. He extends a palm toward Tien, preparing to finish him off. At that instant, Goku vanishes from the Lookout using Instant Transmission, leaving Mr. Popo and Gohan startled. He materializes directly in front of Cell, who recognizes him immediately.

A Promise and a Rescue

Goku stares Cell down and admits he cannot win at his current power level, but promises that in one day he will be strong enough. Cell laughs at the bold claim, finding it absurd. Before the conversation goes further, Goku senses Piccolo's fading ki nearby. He grabs Tien and teleports to the shoreline, where Piccolo lies half-submerged and unconscious at the water's edge.

Cell notices Goku has shifted position and wonders how he moved so quickly. Goku tells his fallen allies they are safe and that Senzu Beans await at the Lookout. Cell charges forward to attack, but Goku vanishes before the punch connects. Baffled, Cell decides hunting Android 18 takes priority and flies off.

Preparations on All Fronts

Elsewhere, Krillin encounters Bulma in midair. She hands him the Shut Down Remote, explaining it only works within ten meters. She also offers new Battle Armor for the fighters, but Krillin tells her to deliver the suits to the Lookout herself. Back at the Lookout, Goku and Piccolo discuss Cell's terrifying power. Mr. Popo rushes in to announce that Vegeta and Future Trunks have just exited the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Goku says finally, and Future Trunks steps through the door ahead of Vegeta, both wearing hardened expressions.
