Reaching New Namek

Goku announces he will search for the Namekians immediately. Piccolo questions whether Instant Transmission can reach a planet whose location is unknown. Goku tries sensing ki across the cosmos but admits he cannot lock on from Earth. He wonders if King Kai's planet would give him better range and teleports to Other World. After waking the napping King Kai and explaining the crisis, Goku asks for directions to New Namek. King Kai concentrates, finds the planet, and points the way. Goku locks onto a Namekian energy signature and vanishes.

Dende Volunteers

Goku arrives on New Namek, startling the inhabitants. Elder Moori recognizes him as the warrior who fought Frieza and helped save their people. Goku explains that Earth needs a new Guardian who can create Dragon Balls. Moori says there is a perfect candidate and calls over young Dende, who has always wanted to visit Earth and see Gohan and Krillin again. Dende is a talented member of the Dragon Clan, so creating Dragon Balls is within his ability. Goku thanks the Namekians, and Dende says goodbye. They teleport briefly to King Kai to report success, then head straight to the Lookout, where Piccolo is surprised to see Dende.

Mr. Satan Takes the Stage

At Kame House, Krillin and Yamcha watch the news. King Furry addresses the world, accepting responsibility for the army's defeat and urging people not to lose hope. He invokes the memory of the boy who once defeated King Piccolo. A reporter then announces that Mr. Satan, the World Martial Arts Champion, will participate in the Cell Games. Mr. Satan dismisses Cell's destructive power as tricks involving explosive powder and vows to beat him easily. Krillin mutters that he is just another dead man walking.

Goku collects Krillin and brings him and Gohan to the Lookout. The old friends are thrilled to reunite with Dende. As Krillin admires Gohan's new look, Trunks asks Goku if his calm demeanor means he found Cell's weakness. Goku replies that he does not think Cell has one, leaving Trunks speechless.
